Madeline will play! Daddy has been away on a golf trip all morning, so Miss. Madeline and I have been outside all morning! First a walk, then play time, swing time, followed by a quick errand, lunch and now a nap. Whew!
Hiya!
Not so sure about standing on the rock after all.
Madeline is soooooo big!
This shot to me says serenity....calm. ahhhh.
And then we decided to go grocery shopping in the yard. Madeline went all the way back in the house and came back out with this! So silly.
We have been spending LOTS of time outside lately, Madeline just cannot get enough! I think we were outside all day yesterday except for nap time and a few quick errands.
I see you!
Putting the shovel and rake from Grandma Ayres to good use!
"Hiiiiiiiiii Doddie!"
Just before bath time...and yes, the spoon was more entertainment than any of her toys.
Today we headed to the pediatrician to meet with Dr. McCormic to see how Miss. Madeline is doing. He checked her eyes, ears, tummy and toes, and confirmed what we already knew: Madeline is 100% healthy and happy :) Whew! While she is only saying 4-5 words, he said not to worry, that she is perfectly on schedule with any normal 18-month-old and she'll start talking at her own pace. As for her eyes. I asked for a definite answer to see if Dr. McCormic could give us an "offical" reading on the color of them. Well, since they are pretty much stuck halfway between blue and half between brown, he called them hazel. Go figure. He said they might gravitate a little more towards brown. We'll just have to wait and see. We go back for her two-year appointment, YIKES, in October.
Her stats are as follows: Height: 32 inches, 62nd percentile Weight: 20.7 lbs, 5th percentile
This past weekend we made the trip into NYC for Hope's Baby shower! Mr. Cash got lots of goodies, and we are all bursting at the seams waiting for him to arrive :) We got into Jersey City on Friday afternoon and met up with our gracious hosts, Greg, Tina and Miss. Ellie! The girls had a blast playing together all weekend. We even got to see Tina and Greg's new house, which I didn't take any photos :( But it is truly an amazing house, and I cannot wait to see what they do with it!
The girls played hard, danced, and then had a race up the stairs to the bath!
Bath time!
Miss. Ellie was kind enough to share her chair with Madeline, they even switched sippy cups. Ha!
Later we went down to the park, you could even see the big city across the water!
Ellie modeled her new sunglasses from Madeline.
Cityscape!
Madeline used daddy's ears as handlebars.
Hope's baby shower! The cute clothing line of outfits from Mrs. Foust!
Hope and her bestests from the college years. Thanks again for being such great hosts and planners ladies!
And I leave you with a video of Madeline and Ellie getting down on Friday night. Quite entertaining. :)
Yesterday I had a very cranky little girl. Poor Madeline is teething like crazy. We were putting her clothing away when we found her tutu from her 6 month photoshoot, and I thought, "yes, this will take her mind off of those teeth." Not-so-much. In fact quite the opposite, Madeline got very mad, and of course, I had to grab a photo. Does this make me a bad mother? I mean, have to document it right? If you look closely in the first photo you can even see the tear running down her cheek. Poor thing, it's so heartbreaking.
In the end it really was okay. Whew! Thank you for Motrin!
On Saturday morning, Madeline was in desperate need of a bath. Brad and I had an evening out to ourselves, so we skipped the bath for her on Friday night. So, to mix it up a bit, I decided to give her a bath in our big tub! Unfortunately, she is still too tiny to fill the water level up to the jets, so we couldn't turn them on. None-the-less I think she had fun. We even got to break out the new robe Grandma Ayres bought her last year! It finally fits, and it's too cute!
Minus a few showers here and there, today has turned out to be a gorgeous Friday! And what better way to enjoy it than a trip to the park? Madeline has been begging me to take her to the park, okay, not really, but I really wanted to get out, so we packed up and headed into Boalsburg. I figured I would take Madeline back to the old stomping ground where Brad and I used to live. We enjoyed a good 45 minutes exploring the park, went on a little walk around town, stopped in NV to see Ginny, and even stopped to grab a Cheeseburger happy meal for lunch! Which Madeline devoured once we got home. Yay! This means she won't eat dinner. Oh well.
First stop, swings.
Gorgeous trees in bloom.
Discovering the rock wall.
Next stop was to check out some of the water life in the park!
And then Madeline tried to feed mommy her flower...yummy?
We had many trips up and down the ramp to the "dock."
Park benches...
And last, but certainly not least, Madeline played in the soccer goals, which I am sure will make Daddy proud. :)
