Father's Day

Father's Day weekend started on Saturday night. We gave Brad the first part of his gift, which was really a gift for Madeline, a push golf cart started set. I figured Madeline and Daddy could start doing this together. The day we started with some swimming and some fabulous dinner. After dinner Madeline got to meet one of our friends that lives in the yard...Mr. Frog. He scared her half to death when she first saw him, she literally ran away and cried, but then she would not leave him alone.

Golfing...

Fun times at the pool...

Trying to drink the water...Yucky!

Helllooooo Mr. Frog.

Hiyyyyyaaaaaa

Birthday Fun!

We certainly were busy girls this past Friday! Grandma and our friend Traci came up to spend the day with us, and boy did we go everywhere. It was all ended with of course some chocolate, yummo! Once we came home, Madeline and I opened up her new water toy for the backyard. She wasn't too sure what to think of it at first, but we had a blast with it. Daddy even came home just in time to join us. Madeline got to end the evening with one of her favorite people, Miss. Jenah, while Brad and I went out for dinner and drinks with some fabulous friends. It was a great day!

Spending time on the front porch, apparently grocery shopping deserves this face. I feel her pain. ha.

Wearing a special outfit for mommy's birthday.

Water fun!

Playing bejeweled on daddy's phone. Note, she is using Brad's finger to play, not hers own. So silly.

The big 3-0

That's right, today I am 30 years old...and I have a feeling this is going to be the best year yet. I have all that I could have ever wished for; great friends, great family, and a life that I truly LOVE. Not many people can say that. I am looking forward to seeing what the next 30 years bring my way - oh my!

Me and my little girl on the morning of my 30th!

Fun with Play Dough!

The other day I decided to test my fate with Madeline and give her some play dough! We have had a can for a few months now from a goodie bag at a Birthday Party, I just wasn't brave enough to try it with her. To my surprise she did really well with it. Madeline only put the dough in her mouth once, and after I told her "no," well that was it! She happily played for over 30 minutes with the fun stuff! This might be our new source for entertainment when we are out to dinner :)

We really were having fun :)
Don't mind my appearance, this was after our morning run :/

Gone Strawberry Pickin'

This morning I decided to get Madeline out of the house and go strawberry picking! To my surprise she actually did really well. We got a little sidetracked by other people's baskets overflowing with strawberries, but who wouldn't right? We were out for about 30 minutes and called it a day. Two pounds of strawberries, three dollars, and 30 minutes later we were on our way home. We'll definitely do this next year, and hopefully daddy will be able to join us.

Heading out.

I got one!

Into the bucket it goes!

What now?

Armed with a snack and ready to go home.

The fruit of our labor.

Madeline even helped me clean them, and then proceeded to eat about ten of them. :)

Hurry Home Daddy

We miss you lots.

Sand Bar fun

Madeline and Daddy had lots of fun one day out on the sand bar. The water was a bit too freezing for mommy and a bit to deep for me to attempt carrying Madeline out to it, thank goodness for dad!

Mother Daughter

Thanks to Aunt Sarah for grabbing my camera and snapping a few photos of me and Madeline.

Chap Stick

One thing Madeline discovered she LOVED at the beach was chap stick, and I mean LOVED it. We had to hide it from her, she simply would not give it up. Here is a photo of her fully enjoying a coating. At least we could rest assured her lips were fully protected from the sun.

My Family...At the beach

I Love them :)

You scream, I scream we all scream for...

Ice Cream! Madeline had her very first ice cream cone at the beach. Though not her first taste of ice cream, it was the first time she had it in a cone. She was a little unsure of it at first and kept handing it back to Aunt Sarah after each bite. After a few bites she got the hang of it, and we didn't even end up with it on our clothing! WOW! Thanks to Grandma Howe, we had the perfect outfit for her first cone :) Click on the image to see it a bit bigger.

Back from the beach...

That's right, we are back from the beach! Madeline and I, and even daddy for a few days joined our entire family, cousins too, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a week. It was an amazing few days in Corolla. We got to see lots of family members we haven't seen in years, and Madeline got to experience the ocean...again. And yes, she loved it. Still getting things in order, but I hope to post photos soon.

Playdate with Lyla!

A few weeks ago we were in Hershey for Bridget's big bridal shower, which was beautifully done! As a bonus, we, and I mean Aunt Sarah too, got to have a play date with Lyla and her mommy! It was about time, we've only been talking about getting these two together since they were born. After Bridget's shower, I met Madeline, Aunt Sarah, and Sandy and Lyla at their house and we headed to Cocoa Castle. I think the girls had fun, though there wasn't a whole lot of interaction between the two...maybe next time. The play date was fabulous, though way too short. Hopefully our next one can be at the Plaza in the water :)

First stop, swings!

Play those pipes girls!

Sweet smiling Lyla.

Jumping!

And last stop, a go on the slide!
