Sisterly Love

I was in the office trying to get a few last minute things finished up and Avery was crying. When I walked back into the living room I found Avery cuddled up with Madeline's doggy and one of her taggies. So sweet. And Avery seemed very content. In fact she fell asleep! I asked Madeline if she gave those to her sister and she said yes, because she was crying. Let's hope this sisterly love continues.

Avery seems happy about it :)

Happy Four Months Avery!

Happy Four Months to my sweet, happy, giggly little girl! Avery really has blossomed over the last month, she's made many new discoveries and truly has become in incredibly happy little baby. Sad to say, I think that what we thought was reflux her first few months was just colic. ugh. I am glad that is over with.

So what has our little Avery been up to you ask? LOTS!

Avery still isn't big on naps, but we're getting better, a lot of little naps here and there still.

We started sleep training. Avery started to use nursing as her way to get herself back to sleep, and after much consideration and many books later, we decided it had to be done. The cry it out method sucks, but it works. She is now getting a bottle before bed, anywhere from 4-5 oz. Bed time around 8:30 p.m., asleep some nights until 3 or 4 a.m., others up at 1:30 a.m. to cry it out, nurse and then back to bed for a few more hours. MUCH improved!

She is still a snacker, nursing every 2-3 hours during the day.

She found her toes and you LOVE to chew on them.

Avery also found her voice and love to talk to us all day long, even at 2 a.m sometimes. It's adorable, though sometimes I feel like I'm speaking in whale?

She's rolled over from back to belly and a few times from belly to back, and mastered tummy time.

We've tried lots of new toys including the jumper, which she still have yet to figure out, but seem to be okay hanging out in it for a least a few minutes, the exersaucer, high chair for when we eat dinner and our new double stroller!

Still doing great in the car for long trips.

Wearing size 2 diapers, but I feel in the next few weeks will be out of them, 3-6 month clothing and some smaller 6 month jammies.

For this month's photo we managed to go through 3 onsies yet again. Unfortunately you are still big on spitting up.

We love you more and more every, single day. :)

Avery Rolls

Yesterday evening Miss. Avery decided to do a little roll for us! She's been rolling to her side for a few days now, and when I looked up she was on her tummy! Not only did she do it once, but twice! Yeah! Keep up the good work!

Sorry about the photo quality. I grabbed my phone as quickly as I could!

In action, rolling from back to tummy.

So proud of herself!

Quote of the Day...

While Madeline is using the potty...

Madeline: "Momma, Boys have beans..."
Momma: "What?"
Madeline: "Boys have beans..."
Momma: "What? What are you talking about? Where do boys have beans?"
Madeline: "In their underwears."
Momma: In shock..."Oh, Okay."

Where in the world do they learn these things?!?!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's day from my two love bugs! We were busy making our Valentine's yesterday so we could take them into school today. Madeline was so excited to show off her lollipops to her friends. She had a blast making them. Marshmallow Lollipops dipped in chocolate and sprinkles. What kid wouldn't love this? BTW, check out the photo of Madeline in the same outfit 3 years ago, it's crazy how similar they look http://johnsonbundleofjoy.blogspot.com/2009/02/happy-valentines-day.html.

Letting them dry out before wrapping them up.

Wrapped and sealed with a ribbon and a tag that reads "I'm a sucker for you." Get it? A lollipop...sucker?!? Cheesy I know.

Ready for breakfast with my new Valentine's day cup and plate!

Yes, Madeline did this pose all on her own. Silly girl.

A glimpse at the past few weeks

Since I've been so behind in updating the blog, and taking photos, her are a bunch of the photos I captured on my phone over the last few weeks:

Playing in the play yard with Momma :)

Miss. A doing fabulously with tummy time!

Madeline showing off her new shoulder length do. Thanks Mr. Dan for the great haircut!

Sweet little girl after bath time (please ignore my goofy face, trying to get her to smile).

My evenings with my loves.

So serious.

Madeline give kisses to Avery.

Avery channeling her inner Elton John. I can't help but laugh out loud when I look at this one.

Little monkey toes trying to wrap around my arm while nursing.

Madeline thrilled with her purchase of SEVEN, yup count 'em S-E-V-E-N, princesses with her Birthday and Valentine's day money.

Homemade pizza night!

Miss. Avery giving me the "What momma?" look after keeping Momma up all night long.

A very Howe Christmas

At the end of January Grammy, Papaw Howe and Uncle Justin came to visit us, which meant we finally got to celebrate Christmas with them. Better late than never right? Anyway, the all joined us for the weekend and spoiled us all with their company, and the girls got spoiled with lots of love and princesses. What more could a girl ask for?

Grammy giving Momma a break and feeding Miss. Avery.

Madeline putting some coins in her new piggy bank! We've already started adding to it when Madeline helps feed Hanna and puts all of her toys away :)

Look at that face, only my child would get so excited over chocolate.

Yup, you guessed it, more chocolate.

Princess crayons!!

A Disney Princess Castle?!?! OH- MY- GOODNESS! I swear, that is what she said. :)

Sooooo happy!

Miss. Avery hung out with Daddy most of the time :)
Thank you to Grammy and Papaw, and uncle Justin, for spoiling ALL of us this Christmas.
Now come back and visit already!

Happy Three Months Avery Quinn

Happy Three Months to my happiest baby girl!

Since our last check up with you at 2 months you have been a hand full. In both good and bad ways, and by bad I mean health wise, not because you are a bad baby. You are however a difficult baby, though you do give us loads of smiles that help to make up for it :)

After we took you to your two month check up we realized that you were falling into all of the categories of a baby with reflux. So Momma quickly called the doctor and got us in for a visit. Dr. McCormic confirmed that she does have a lot of the signs, but since she is so young it could also be colic. The only way to try was to get you on some Zantax and see if it makes a difference. And it does seem to be helping, you are no longer our unhappy baby when you are awake. You are at least happy and will play on your own now. Whew. However, you are still not sleeping so great during the day, and now the night time is getting worse. *Sigh* As my mother-in-law and my friends have told me "This too shall pass." And I know it will, that's what keeps me going.

Anyway here are some things Avery has been up to:

You are still taking your cat naps of 30 minutes during the day.
Night time sleeping is becoming a problem, you went from sleeping 4-6 hrs to up every 1.5-2 hours again. Some times every 30 minutes.
You still love to nurse, every 2 hours.
Your baby acne, which we found out was seborrhea, cleared up within three days after our pediatrician told us the right goodies to use on your skin.
You are loving playing in your light-up waterfall bouncer. It gives you the biggest smiles and you go crazy with your legs.
I think you are going to roll over very soon, you've already rolled to your side once!
You also still love being held, but are getting better at being on your own.
You are a great sleeper in your car seat and do very well on car rides.
You are fitting into some 6 month clothing for the length, but I can still fit you into most of your 3 month and 3-6 month clothing.
We had to break out the size 2 diapers, I think you are close to 13 lbs.
It took us 3 outfits and 25 photos to get this good shot...you like to destroy outfits as soon as I put them on you.
Your smiles light up your entire face and our lives.

Here are some of the outtakes I got on my phone after my camera died. Notice the spit up all down her onsie. *sigh* At least she looks happy!
