Playdate with Olivia

A few weeks ago, Madeline got to have Oliva over for a playdate. I didn't have time to post the photos then, so I am posting now. The girls had fun in the pool while we got to enjoy some apps and a few drinks. Hopefully we'll get to do it again before the summer is over!

9 Month Check Up

On Friday we had Madeline's 9 Month Check up with Dr. McCormick. He said she looks great, and that we can start to give her more and more table food. Craziness! So yesterday she went to town on a ton of blueberries with dinner. Dr. McCormic also said that her ear infection is still in the clear. Which is great, b/c I could have sworn it was back. We had to get a blood sample from her, which I was dreading, but Maddie didn't even feel it! What a trooper! They were testing for her iron levels, which had to be above 11 and hers was 11.9. Whew! She isn't a big eater, so I was concerned that maybe her levels would be a bit low. All in all, it was a great apt!

Stats:

28 inches long
(I don't have the paper with me, so I'll have to verify if I am remembering this correctly) 60th percentile! Which is you remember at her last visit they said she was around the 30th percentile for height, well Dr. McCormick thinks she was measured wrong. Whew!

17.8 lbs

My sister Kristin and my brother-in-law Jamey just found out this morning that they are going to have a GIRL! YAY! Madeline and my niece are going to be the best of friends! SO AMAZING!

Happy 9 Months!

Yesterday Madeline turned 9 months old! I didn't get a chance to post the picture yesterday so here it is a day late. Happy birthday big girl! P.S. Thank you to Mamaw and Papaw Johnson for all of the cute outfits they sent home with Maddie! This is one of them :) Too cute!

Swing Time

Last week I decided to snap a few photos of Madeline in her swing. I know that she won't be able to swing in this much longer, and the though of it breaks my heart. She looks so sweet and content napping in here. *Sigh* Just one more sign that Miss. Madeline is growing up.

Sorry about the lack of Posting

I know, I know, I've been horrible at posting lately, but to my defense, I've also been out of town quite a bit.  Brad and I had our weekend away at the Nemacolin, which was amazing, fabulous dinners, and relaxing evenings--Thank you Sarah and Mark!!! And while it was great to get away, I did miss Madeline like crazy. So it was even more difficult when I had to leave her again this weekend.  Brad had an all weekend golf tournament, and I had a beach weekend with some girls from work, so Maddie got to spend the weekend with Mamaw and Papaw Howe in West Virginia.  I know she had a fabulous time, in fact, she had a big milestone happen while there, she is now pulling herself up to chairs, ottomans, and her play table.  Craziness! Hopefully they took some photos from the weekend and we'll get to post them.

In the mean time here are a few photos from the last day with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Mark. They also took Maddie to the pool on their last day, but I'll have to post those later.

Brad and I are off to the Nemacolin for the weekend, so Aunt Sarah and Uncle Mark are here in State College to taker care of Maddie for the weekend. I know they are going to have a blast, and so is Maddie. Who knows, maybe Sarah and Mark will even do a post or two! I am sure we'll have some fabulous photos for the blog on Monday!

Maddie wanted to make sure that we sent out a special thank you to Olivia and her Mommy for all of the beautiful bows they made Maddie. We'll get a lot of use out of all of them :)

Play Table

This weekend I finally went out and got Maddie a play table. She seemed to like it, that is until she crashed to the floor. How else is she going to learn to pull her self up and stand alone?!?! Plus there is so much she can learn from it. I think we will get a lot of use out of it.

Philladelphia

This weekend Maddie and I headed for Philly. We got to go see Maddie's Aunt Jessica and Aunt Jamie, and on Saturday, Aunt Tina and Maddie's new BFF Ellie joined us! Friday night we even got to hang out with Troy, who I don't think I've seen since high school! It was so much fun, and the girls even got to wear matching outfits courtesy of her Aunts. Too cute. We can't wait to do it again!

Fear the Deer...

On Thursday night we had the chance to take Maddie to her first Spikes Baseball Game! The Spikes are a local, single A, short season baseball team, which is an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Our friends Jodi and Al have season tickets and invited us all to go! It was a gorgeous night, Maddie had to go dressed in her PJs due to the late time, we had a fabulous time. Maddie even got to try her first French Fry! She hated it. Go figure.

I had to post this one, just because her smile is too stinking cute!

Amoxicillin...

Maddie has had a bit of a cough for the past several weeks. It's gotten better and then worse and then better again, and just recently worse. So, I decided that it was time to head to the doctors. We got an 8:30 a.m. apt. yesterday morning with Dr. Chase, who was incredibly nice. He checked out Maddie's lungs, as well as her throat and ears. And with the ears Dr. Chase proceeded to tell me that Maddie has a bit of an ear infection. Oh man. So he cleaned out her hear, which Maddie HATED, she screamed her head off and then proceeded to give Dr. Chase a dirty look. LOL!

He said that the ear infection might be why Maddie has developed a cough. I am crossing my fingers that this is Maddie's only ear infection she ever has. I had so many ear infections when I was little, one too many to count, and they were so painful. Poor thing, this probably explains why she has been getting up in the middle of the night again. She really hasn't been too fussy though.

Anyway, Dr. Chase wrote out a prescription for some Amoxicillin for her and we started the dosage yesterday. I don't think she is too fond of the bubblegum flavor, though neither was I when I was little, so I can't really blame her. So far so good. She went down last night at 7:30 p.m. and only woke up once at 9:30 p.m. and then again at 5 a.m. and then back to bed until 7:30 a.m. Let's hope this helps!

They also weighed Maddie when we were there and she is up to 17.2 lbs. Growing and growing :)

Fourth of July

Maddie's First Fourth of July was a busy one! On Friday we made the trip into Harrisburg to visit with Aunt Sarah, Uncle Mark, Aunt Kristin, Uncle Jamey and Grandma Ayres. It was a busy day, but a great one! Mark and Sarah got some practice for when they watch Maddie in two weeks...I think Mark has the stroller and the car seat down! Whew! Maddie also got some good play time in with A. Sarah, where she proceeded to pull a nice chunk of A. Sarah's hair out (Photo below). It was quite hilarious!

On Saturday we spent most of the day at the pool soaking up the sun. We then headed to a cook out at Dave and Ginny's where Maddie got to play with all of her friends, including Zach, though she was asking where Zach's mommy was. Stupid night shift at MNMC! Blagh. Maddie also made a new friend at the cookout, Tank a little Maltese puppy! So cute! Video is below of her playing with Tank. It was too cute, I think Tank thought she was a toy! Hilarious.
