This past Monday was Daddy's Birthday, I know I am a little late on posting this one. We had a busy day, and capped it off with cake and presents just before Madeline headed off to bed. She was great helping Brad blow out the candles. I think we might just have this birthday cake thing down by October!
Happy Birthday Daddy!
Helping Daddy...
Taking a deep breath...
...and blowwwwww!
Watching daddy finish...since they kept relighting, blowing out candles is hard work! I swear I didn't buy them on purpose!
WINTER! Yikes! These are what Madeline wanted to wear the other day...oh boy. Don't you just love the band aids? Great fashion accessory for summer, fall, winter and spring!
On our Saturday in Richmond we headed out to the mall with the outdoor fountains for Madeline! Mommy got in a little shopping, and Miss. Madeline got some fun-time in. She had an absolute blast running through these, though she wasn't too sure at first, by the end of the 30 minutes she was a pro! We capped off the weekend with a Sunday brunch at Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Dick's house in Fredericksburg. It was so nice of them to have us up for brunch, as we rarely make it out to their neck of the woods. Their house sits right on the Potomac River, and is absolutely gorgeous. They even had some special toys set up just for Madeline, which kept her very occupied. Yay! We had a great time, and fabulous company and then Madeline and I hit the road back to State College, a long drive, but well worth it!
Not too sure at first.
Fun with Uncle Mark, as always.
Not sure exactly what was going on here, but I am assuming she needed a rest.
Brunch at Aunt Marylin and Uncle Dick's!
Madeline hard at work with the new toy.
It turns into a desk too! Time for lunch!
And capping it all off with a little Alvin and the Chipmunks courtesy of daddy's PSP.
A little video of Madeline splashing around in the water.
Happy Third Anniversary to my amazing husband, who three years ago "put a pretty ring on one lovely finger," said "I do" and made me the happiest girl in the world. Happy Anniversary to the man I'll love forever.
Madeline and I decided to pay a visit to Aunt Sarah and Uncle Mark this past weekend while daddy was away golfing (Hope you had fun daddy!). We arrived on Friday and headed strait for the pool! Madeline could not have been more happy, there were even lots of balls to play with! We then headed for a fabulous dinner, minus the cranky toddler at our table. On Saturday we headed to the children's museum in Richmond. Which is amazing! I wish we had one of these near us! Madeline had a blast playing around on all of the fun toys! We also headed to some cool fountains later that day, which will require a whole new post.
Uncle Mark and Madeline trying to sail away.
Slide!
Feeding the animals on the farm! Mooooooo
Milking the cow.
Driving an ambulance!
And even appearing on the news! Madeline did it all!
Aunt Sarah has rocks falling on her! Madeline isn't quite sure.
About a week ago we took Madeline to Colyer lake with the puppies. It was the first time we had been back since we had Madeline, well at least for me. It was a gorgeous Sunday and I think both the puppies and Madeline had a fabulous time. Daddy showed her how to throw rocks into the lake, and the puppies got some much needed exercise.
Unfortunately the trip had a not-so-good ending...shortly after the last photo of Madeline below my camera plummeted to the ground and broke. Thank goodness it was just the lens, but it's still a pretty expensive ouch. Thank goodness I got a new one time to take with me on our visit to Richmond!
Walking to the lake with Daddy.
Taking it all in.
The "hike" up the hill before the disaster.
Broken lens *sniff, sniff,* if you look closely you can see the part of the camera lens hanging down inside. :( So sad.
Last night Madeline graced us all with her first visit to the ED at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She hasn't been back to that hospital since the day she was born, and I was hoping to keep it that way for at least a little while longer. Sadly it was not to be.
Bath time was especially slipper last night and when I heard Brad say "Amanda I need you up here!" I knew it wasn't going to be good. Sure enough Madeline had tried to stand up in the tub, which always gets greeted with an automatic "Sit down Madeline, no no!" She came crashing down with her chin on the side of the tub. The panic, fear and adrenaline that runs through your body when your child is hurt is like none other than I have ever experienced in my life.
After getting her calmed down and into some pajamas, we headed into the ED. Thankfully it was not a busy night. We got into Triage in about 2 minutes, and saw the PA on duty in about 15. About an hour later Madeline was all sewn up with 6, yes you read that right SIX, brand-spanking-new stitches.
She really was a trooper. We opted for the numbing shot, instead of the gel, b/c we weren't sure how much longer she would last in her good mood. It was 8:45 at this point and long past bedtime. The numbing gel would have taken another 30-45 minutes to work. Madeline was amazing. She didn't even flinch when they gave her the shots. Maybe it was the Boo Boo Bear that hospital gave her to squeeze tight. She loves that Bear.
We got her home, into some new/non-bloody pajamas and into bed. It was a long night for all of us. I think we all got a good deep sleep last night. Madeline is feeling okay today. At little moany, I think her chin is throbbing a bit. So we Motrined her up and I sent her to daycare to help get her mind off of it. We'll see how she is when I pick her up.
Let's hope we don't have many adventures like this one for a LONG, LONG time.
On Saturday we got to go to Delgrosso's Amusement park! This park is great for little ones. Free parking, free entry, pay as you go rides, and reasonably priced food. Who knew this kind of place still existed? It must have been what Hershey Park was like when Nonna and Aunt Vae used to go, *Sigh.* Anyway we could not have asked for a more gorgeous day, it was perfect for trying out something new. Madeline's friends Olivia, Jake, and Cora (cast and all, what a trooper!) joined us for the day too! We had a great time, even though Madeline only took two 15 minute naps all day. Geeze. We cannot wait to go back in a few weeks once Cora's cast comes off and try the water park!
First stop...Boats!
Cora and Jake--They don't look too thrilled, but they loved it!
Helicopter time.
Riding the pink elephant.
Daddy showing Madeline how to hit with a hammer!
Madeline's favorite ride by far...can you see those faces? Pure joy!
Best shot of the day. Cora thinks it's hilarious, Olivia is probably disgusted, and Jake is ignoring her. Too funny.
